The Challenge Starts Tuesday !

Find your blender and get ready for some GREEN !

The 30 day Green Smoothie Challenge officially starts Tuesday, July 1st, but I've been experimenting a little bit before we get started. I have to admit they taste far better than I was expecting.You can find recipes on Simple Green Smoothie website or experiment and make your own favorites. No fancy 'rules' just drink one green smoothie a day for 30 days.

When you make your first few smoothies it's best to measure ingredients so you get the perfect 'green' combination. After that use your imagination!

* Blend in stages to avoid chunky green smoothies.
Blend the leafy greens and the liquid together first until smooth. Then add the rest of your ingredients. Use at least one part frozen fruit to add chill and creamier texture.  I use all frozen fruit for my smoothies. It's so simple to grab it from the freezer and toss it in the blender plus I like it colder.

Experimenting with the liquids you use completely changes the taste of the smoothie. Juice gives it a bit more 'tang' while milk makes it creamier and water creates a more mellow smoothie. 


Make this challenge FUN - experiment with different fruits and greens. Be Creative in this challenge and see what tasty combinations you can create in 30 days. 

 




The Basic Formula For A Great Smoothie:

2 cups greens + 2 cups liquid + 3 cups fruit

 
Here are a few recipes to get you started on the first week of the 30 day GREEN SMOOTHIE CHALLENGE. I'll be posting more recipes as the challenge continues.




 Day One
1 cup water
1 cup orange juice
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup fresh Kale (remove center stem)
** Blend very well then add:
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen mixed fruit (pineapple, mango, peach)

Blend well - Enjoy!! 


Day Two  
1 cup orange juice
1 cup water
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup fresh Kale (remove center stem)
** Blend very well then add:
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 apple

Blend well - Enjoy!!



Day Three 
2 Cups water
2 Cups Spinach
* Blend very well then add:
2 Cups Frozen Mixed Fruit (pineapple, mango, peach)
1 Frozen banana

Blend well - Enjoy 


Day Four 
1 Cup water
1 Cup Orange Juice
1 Cup fresh Kale (remove center stem)
1 Cup Spinach
 ** Blend well and then add;
1 Nectarine
2 cups Frozen Peaches



Day 5
1 cup water
1 almond milk
1 cup fresh kale (remove center stem)
1 cup spinach
** Blend well and than add:
2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup almonds
