PLAN A -- PLAN B

After nearly 3 months of slow and steady remodeling we've finished our bedroom, our bathroom, a walk in closet, the office and the playroom. Whew!
We're still plugging away. **I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.**

A few things have changed and the timeline for getting into the new house is open ended now. On the one hand that's a good thing because we won't have to move in and live through the remainder of the construction - on the other hand it leaves a more lenient time schedule which concerns me that things will be drawn out even more.

Plan A : We had planned on keeping all the kitchen cupboards and repainting them. That's been the plan from the very beginning. We've searched for discontinued floor tiles to fill in spaces where we removed a cabinet in the kitchen as well as where we have removed half walls. We needed 14 tiles for these projects and we found 16 tiles. Not much room for error!

We have four other half walls we wanted to cut down but because we can't find any more of this darn flooring, we didn't have much choice but to leave them unless we wanted to put in all new flooring which we had decided against doing. I'm sure there is tile somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I've called the company, flooring stores, searched on Ebay and Craigslist, and we even found some from a guy that just happened to have a few tiles left over from a past job.

Keeping with Plan A, I painted a cupboard door the other day and hated it. It looked cheesy and the paint didn't adhere to the door like I wanted it to.  Here enters Plan B.

Plan B: New kitchen cupboards. Ugh!  After this long we had both gotten the idea of saving all the cupboards so engrained in our minds that it is taking us a while to absorb the next step. Not to mention the time Dwight has already put into patching the floor areas we had tile for.

Pastor Gary is just itching to use his sledgehammer. :)

Well, if we're getting new cupboards that means these cupboards have to be taken out. That's where our friend Gary comes in to the picture. He loves to destroy things. And he is really good at it. :)

As they are tearing out the cupboards I just kept saying, "I can't believe we are doing this."

Oh my goodness! Another trailer load.
