Five Minute Friday : Ordinary

I'm participating in Lisa-Jo's five minute Friday challenge where you have 5 minutes to write on a topic. You have little time to think, just write!! Join the fun by clicking here .

The word for today: ORDINARY --- GO!!

Ordinary, average and normal can be synonyms but none of these seem to be working in today's world. The average family carries a mountain of debt. A normal morning means rushing around the house and barely making it out the door on time for work. Ordinary people find time to cheer at sporting events but not the time to sing praises to God. Ordinary is what people strive to be and then spend the better part of their lives trying to 'find themselves' while realizing ordinary isn't all it's cracked up to be.

If only I would have realized long ago that ordinary is what I choose it to be. God knew what he was doing when he created each of us and if only we would trust him completely we would realize that our own ordinary is perfect.

  1. "God knew what he was doing when he created each of us and if only we would trust him completely we would realize that our own ordinary is perfect." It's so difficult in this crazy world that tells us that ordinary is boring, ordinary is terrible. I loved this line from your post! I sometimes need to remember that God created me to be who I am, not who the world says I should be. Thank you. So glad I stopped by from FMF!
