If school hasn’t begun for you yet, it soon will and that means lunches! Everyone knows how I feel about school lunches (that will be another post), so here are few ideas to send in your child’s lunch (or your own!) These would also be great after school snacks!

* Apple Sandwiches
    Slice the apple, cut out the core and fill with peanut butter, raisins, or granola. If you’re not going to be eating this ‘sandwich’ right away, squirt apple slices with lemon juice so it won’t turn brown. Kids will love this in their lunch! (picture from Whole Foods)

* Tortilla Roll Ups ----- Filled with fresh veggies ----- peanut butter and bananas -----egg salad-----hummus and shredded lettuce and carrots, ----- black beans and rice. The combinations are limitless.

* Sandwich on a stick (kabob stick)  ----- pickles, black olives, cheese, chicken. What a fun idea for lunch!

* Thermos – A thermos is a perfect way to send leftovers from last night’s supper. A warm lunch can be a great change occasionally.

* Take advantage of all the seasonal fruits and vegetables right now!! Add a slice of cantaloupe or a handful of cherry tomatoes to their lunch as well.

*thought for the day*
As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in schools.  J
