Historical Fiction
The author is clever in describing the characters and the setting of slavery on an 18th century plantation. Each character is portrayed perfectly. I found myself literally picturing how Mama Mae walked into the kitchen.
Interesting, tragic, complex, justice, injustice - a good read.
