Challenge 2

Day 136
Yoplait Light Fat Free Yogurt Calories=100, Sugar =14 g

When you first glance at this you see the 100 calories and think “Good choice, only 100 calories” But let’s look at the sugar content of 14 grams. There are 4 calories in each gram of sugar so that equals 56 calories. That’s 56 of the 100 total calories coming from sugar! You might as well just sit down and eat 3 teaspoons of pure sugar. The front of the yogurt label boldly claims it is 99% fat free which leads the consumer to think it is the ‘healthier’ choice but when you realize that 56% of the calories are from sugar it doesn’t seem very healthy at all. It sounds more like a sweet treat than a food choice.
Please read, read, read the ingredient list and take a minute to figure out exactly what you are getting. You’ll be surprised how much better your choices can become.
*Thought for the day*
It’s easy to assume that someone else will take up the slack. But when everyone makes that assumption, nothing much gets done
